About Me

Hi! As you've probably gathered, my name is Paul and I'm a filmmaker. Here are some things about me:

  • I know you’re wondering, my last name is pronounced with a silent H (“gel-ming.”) That being said, we think its origins are Swedish and a proper Swede would pronounce it “hyell-ming.” Why did my ancestors decide to pronounce it wrong? Your guess is as good as mine.

  • I graduated in 2013 from Bethel University with a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies and a minor in film. I now work at Bethel as a videographer and photographer.

  • It's hard to pick favorites but some directors that I love are are Krzysztof Kieślowski, Ingmar Bergman, Todd Haynes, Paul Thomas Anderson, Brian De Palma, Terry Gilliam, and Terrence Malick.

  • When I'm not watching or making films, I like to pretend I’m a fashion photographer, visit art museums, and read thought-provoking books.

If you're interested in hiring me for a project or just want to discuss your interpretations of L'Année dernière à Marienbad (or lack thereof) you can contact me over here.
